Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery Costs

There are three different procedures in breast augmentation and each are priced differently because they require very specific techniques to achieve their desired results. Most women are not happy with their breast. Some women believe their breasts are too small while others endure back problems because their breasts are excessively large. Still many are unhappy feeling that their breasts are oddly shaped, pointing in the wrong directions, or sagging by nature or as a result of aging. Each problem has a treatment and there are three procedures to enlarge, reduce, or lift the breast.

Breast augmentation prices depend on a number of factors and for that reason will differ greatly between individuals. In general, the cost for breast implants to increase the size will range around $5,000 to $7,000 while size reduction or reconstruction can cost around $4,500 to $6,000. A breast lift, a particular type of reshaping is usually performed with breast implants and can cost around $3,000 to $4,000 for the procedure.

Breast implant patients usually have a choice in the material of the implants and the option of either silicone or saline. There is little difference in choosing one material over the other but in terms of prices surgeons usually charge a slightly higher fee of several hundred dollars for silicone.

The technical term for breast reconstruction or reshaping is breast mastectomy and this procedure is most common for breast cancer patients. Mammoplasty, on the other hand, is an elective procedure to decrease the size of the breast often to relieve back problems caused by the unbalanced weight distribution due to large breasts. Since they are nearly the same procedure, in that both require the removable of tissue, they are priced nearly the same while serving different means.

A breast lift, technically known as a mastopexy and is an option for women who do not want to change the size of their breast but simply the shape. As its name suggests it gives the patient perkier breasts which consequently can make them appear larger or fuller. It is usually best for women with small breast that sag, commonly as a result of bearing children.

Those who do not get addicted to plastic surgery and do not abuse their power of choice can really reap some nice benefits from controlled cosmetic surgery prices. For safety it is important that the patient knows what they are getting into and have realistic goals and expectations. Any surgery serious and all procedures, elective or medical should be evaluated carefully before proceeding.
